Hello all

My wife and I are in the process of getting a modular home. We are going to put it on our lot and the home requires 47 footings/frost piers. I am in SD and we are going to pay about 2800 to have them poured now it will be 18 inch diameter and 4ft deep or to frost line. Now the question I have is we do not want to put the vinyl skirting on, and we are looking at stone skirting, yes I know that will be expensive but I am asking your opinions on this. Our home is 42 wide X 52 Long. Also what will we expect as faras problems and what do we need to look out for. We are excited about this, but worried since this is are first house.

Thanks for your help
Jeremy

Block, brick or stone perimeter skirting is all acceptable. The only thing you have to be careful with is to allow enough openings in the block for ventlation under the home.If you do not mold and moisture in the home can be a problem.
