Need to find the Serial Number on 70's Model Fleetwood Festival

Post by Pat L. » Mon Jun 07, 2004 8:10 pm

Can someone tell me where to find the serial number on a 70's model Fleetwood Festival home?

If you reference an "I-beam," "Hitch-beam," or any other kind of beam that I don't know, please also tell me where that would be.

I have a triangle looking piece of metal under the front of the home which I assume was once the hitch.

Thanks,
Pat

Eugene

The serial number would be stamped on the front cross member, which runs under the floor on the home, under the the fron end of the home.
If the home was built prior to June 15, 1976, it is not built under the HUD code.
Also, if the home has a metal label on the exterior on or towards the rear end of the home, this label will have a label # which can be traced to find the serial number.
If you have this number, contact 703-481-2010 and give them as much info as you can find. They can research the label number and give you the serial number.

Is that stamp on the bottom of the cross member?

I didn't find a label.

Your label could have been removed. Sorry.
The serial number would be on the face of the front crossmember, not the understand. You might need to take a wire brush to find it. But bare in mind, if it is older than 1976, you might be completely out of luck.

Okay, I found it.

Thanks so much, I'd never have seen it if I didn't know it was stamped in the metal.

So now that I have it, is there anyway I can translate the information that is contained in the serial number? You know like you can with a Lawn Mower?

Does this mean anything to anyone?

If you're in Texas, this website might help http://mhweb.tdhca.state.tx.us/mhweb/title_view.jsp. You can input a serial number, label number, owner name, etc. to find out the details of an individual mobile home.
