Kitchen Cabinets
Kitchen Cabinets
We have a 1996 Cavco doublewide. The kitchen cabinets are blonde pressboard. There are worn, dark areas around the edges of the cabinets, where we open/close them. Is painting over these areas the best way to clean them up? I suppose we'll have to paint all the cabinets for every thing to match. I wasn't sure if paint is the best way to go. Please advise. Thanking you in advance.
Re: Kitchen Cabinets
Painting all the cabinets would be your best bet. Be sure and use sandpaper to cut the gloss finish on your cabinets or buy a primer designed to cover over gloss on wood and then paint.
If you don't do one of the above, the paint will chip and wear off around the knobs and handles. Might look worse than they do now.
You could also consider sanding a re-staining bad areas, if you could find a matching blond color.
