I want to paint my mobile home. It is a '95 Redman. The interior walls and ceilings are filthy, but the walls feel slick. Can I use regular paint, or do I need special paint?
I would also like to know if the cabinets can be painted. They are particle board and are covered in some type of wood look covering rather than paint.
Thank you
Mona Russell

Re: painting
If the interior walls are covered with a slick finish, you will need to apply a good
primer prior to painting. You will also want to give the walls a thorough cleaning
before applying the primer. The primer brandnamed KILLZ is the best I have used
for this job. You will need to have a lot of ventilation when using it, but the results
will be worth the hassle.
good luck

Yes, I believe you should be able to paint the cabinets in the same way - they have the same vinyl covering. You will need to prime, to give the finish coat something to stick to.
Re: painting
We are in the process of painiting the walls of our mobile home. We asked at a local home center and were told to prim the walls with an oil-based primer. We were told a latex primer or latex paint will peel off.
We had some white lates paint and painted a small area. We let it set two weeks and then I tried to scrape it off with my thumb nail. It came off easily. After we primed a room and let it dry. I tried the same thing with my thumb nail and it did not scrape off.
