Bid on repossed homes

Post by Jerry Chapman » Sun Feb 01, 2004 3:41 pm

I have a mobile home park and would like to purchase 2-3 homes for some of my vacant spaces. What is the best approach to getting a good deal? Should you always travel to the site where the home is located to see what condition it is in as opposed to just checking the wholesale value?

Also, what is the size of the smallest manufacured home they are making these days. When my park was built 20 years ago evidently they make 14X60. I have a few lots that I'm considering turning into travel trailer spaces if I can't purchase 2 shorter homes and then resell them to perspective buyers.

Ann comments or suggestions would be appreciated.

Hmmm... a mfr park owner who doesn't know anything about the homes. How typical. Jerry - has it considered to you that the reason you have blank spaces is you don't convery a sense of confidence to prospective tenants? I mean - buy some home sight unseen, put them on your lots and then you would ignore the new buyers when they complain the house is falling apart? Argghh! This is why I hate parks. If you hadn't noticed.
