plastic water pipes in older homes

Post by JoAnne » Tue Nov 19, 2002 12:48 am

My Mother in Law has a 1984 Redman double wide. She just had a plastic (not pvc) pipe burst under the home in the utilty room area and caused over $1300 damage to the utility room. We had seen some commericals on television here in northern Michigan about these pipes, that they are/were illegal and not to code. The ad states that if you have these pipes in your home to contact a certain telephone # about information on getting new pipes. Does ANYONE have any ideas or info they are willing to share with me. If one pipe is gone, how much longer before the rest go????

It was installed per code...but there have been some class action suits concerning some of these plumbing lines...

If you go to http://www.mobilehomerepair.com there is a section on class action law suits and how to make claims..

There is also a forum there where I would suspect this question has been asked scores of times...

The webmaster of this site sells some books on manufactured home maintenence here at the book store that you might want to consider...
