Warning: "Rinwood Homes"

Post by Linda » Sun Nov 30, 2003 3:07 pm

I purchased a new manufactured home in Leisure Mobile Home Park in Santa Rosa, CA from John G., who owned the park at that time. He then sold the park. Upon attempting to contact the seller for warranty repairs needed, he now cannot be located. His business "Rinwood Homes" in Henderson, Nevada has no listing in the yellow pages and no hits on Web searches. Upon contacting the Park management for this seller's contact information for warranty repairs needed, this was refused because "He doesn't like us to give out that information" and they offered to have the park handyman do the repairs, but refused to release the seller's contact information.

I also recently received a letter from the Sonoma County Assessor's office stating that John G. never filed the Dealers Report of Sale, as required by the State of California.

This message has two purposes: (1) a warning to new buyers and (2) an attempt to locate others who have had problems with this seller, should a class action suit become necessary.

If you have any information, please contact me here or by email.

Thanks,

Linda

The warranty on a new home, given by the manufacturer, is stated in detail in the homeowner's manual which was furnished with the home. It will give you the manufacturer's contact information etc. If your claim has something to do with the home, as opposed to a set up issue, you would be better off getting in touch with them directly.

Roy,

I have contacted Skyline in the past with questions and they have provided excellent customer service. No manufacturer contact information was provided by this seller; only the name of his supposed business, which he cannot even be contacted, nor does it appear to exist.

Thanks for your input.

Linda
