Redman Model DA72
Redman Model DA72
First off, are there any free consumer information sites out there? When attempting to assess the level of quality of my Redman home, I have been unable to get anywhere as there seems to be no free information out there. My next question is this: When I bought this home a year and a half ago I was told by the dealer that it is a 2000 Redman Hallmark, but my financial institution has been unable to find a Hallmark made in 2000. The Model is DA72, but I can't seem to find any info. on that either. I phoned the dealer that I had purchased the home from but can't get a hold of anyone that knows anything. As far as quality is concerned, we have had no problems what so ever with our home aside from the shingles blowing off when confronting 50+ mph straight line winds. We are however wanting to relocate and sell our home complete with the 5 acres that it sits on but have no fact based information to pass on to potential buyers, especially when they continually ask how it compares to Solitaire. Is there any information at all that I can find regarding this consumer information or is my only option to buy a book for nearly $20 in order to answer one simple question?

There is no comparison guide available such as consumer reports. This is done with small consumer products, but is not done with housing. Each manufactured home is built to federal guide lines, established and monitored by HUD. Some manufacturers will regularly exceed certain portions of this code, while only meeting the requirements of other sections. This is a performance code, which means that the specifications are set forth, along with industry tolerances. Once this criterior is met, there is no need to further test to see by how much is exceeds the requirement. All lumber is graded, whether it is used to build a home or anything else. The appropriate grades are then used in construction. Whether or not a specific home is better than another is a matter of opinion by the speaker.
The data plate inside the home will give you specifics on the home, and any designations made by the manufacturer at the time of manufacture. Redman of course is a division of Champion Home Builders, the largest builder in the world. They build many, many models, in dozens of manufacturing facilities. Several facilities could build the same model name, and be slightly different is stood side by side. This is a condition of vendor supply and demand in the market place.
This site is free to the general public. It is paid for by R. T. Bonney and Associates, Inc. and monitored by our firm daily. Many, many postings are not from our firm, but from other non-paid parties who choose to offer there opinions for free. We certainly welcome their comments and appreciate their support.

If you look in your owners manual you will find a phone number for the plant....Invest a few dollars in a long distance call...Ask for the engineering department and have your serial number available...They should still have info avaiable on this home...
You should have your insulation disclosure form...It was in you original paperwork package..This is 1 form you can show your clients...
Marketing a land/home package is much different than a home only package...This is a real estate sale...location, location, location..The most important part of the sale is the location..Sell convenience...land scaping is matured, all improvements are in, no sales tax on this sale, condition of the home....If warranty is an issue..maybe you could give the buyer a 2/20 used home warranty....
Just remember..this is the sale of a home...in most areas of the country it takes months to find the right buyer...Average MLS sale in the US takes about 6 months...That menas many take much longer...Good Luck
