Houses with strong roofs

Post by alfredahud » Tue Apr 16, 2024 12:25 am

Hello guys,
I live in Miami and and get a lot of snow in the winter. I'm looking at some of the new 32 wide homes. Do any manufactures build a roof with a 4/12 pitch and metal roofing. Plus 80 or 100 pound snow loads. It seems that most of the manufactures want to build the cookie cutter houses that don't have strong roofs. Any suggestions?

It sounds like you're looking for something robust for heavy snow loads. I’d recommend checking out modular home manufacturers that specialize in custom builds.

Hi! Slate roofs are prized for their natural beauty, longevity, and exceptional durability. These roofs can withstand significant snow loads without compromising their structural integrity, making them an excellent choice for regions with heavy snowfall.

Hello! Living in Miami with snow sounds like an unusual combination, but it’s great that you're planning for strong winter resilience in your home. Some manufacturers specialize in customized modular or prefabricated homes that can handle heavy snow loads, and a 4/12 roof pitch with metal roofing can certainly be part of those customizations. Companies that focus on building for colder, snowy climates, like some based in northern states, often have options for 80-100 pound snow loads. It may help to look into manufacturers like Ritz-Craft, Champion Homes, or even local modular builders in colder regions who are familiar with these needs. You can also explore architectural customization services offered by some modular builders to achieve that specific roof pitch with metal roofing. Lastly, ensure they are clear on code compliance, as snow load requirements vary across states. A little extra research into custom modular builders could land you a home perfectly suited for your Miami "snowy winters"!

Living in Miami, heavy snow is not an issue; are you perhaps considering this for a home in another location? If you're exploring options for a manufactured or modular home, there are manufacturers that cater to areas with heavy snow loads and offer customization options like steeper roof pitches and metal roofing.

For homes with a 4/12 roof pitch, metal roofing, and snow load capacities of 80-100 pounds, consider manufacturers like Kit Custom Homebuilders, Champion Homes, or Clayton Homes, which offer customizable options for snow-prone areas. Look for builders specializing in northern climates and ensure they meet your specific requirements. Consulting a local builder or engineer can help verify the design's compliance with snow load standards.
