Update on my house

Now they don't have another house with tan carpeting. Well, they do, but apparently it's been sold to someone else who refused to switch to the green carpet.

I was told that they are ordering another model, and it would take a week to get here. My husband and I are taking bets on how long it will REALLY take.

Someone on another message board I frequent told me gave me some great advice: "If the WORST thing that ever happens to me is I experience a few royal screw-ups on my way to attaining a home of my own that I love, I will have lived a charmed life."

When we were going to my mom's for Sunday dinner, we noticed the display powerhouse was gone. That particular one BETTER be for the other TC customer.

We did a lot check yesterday (more like a weed pulling fire ant killer spreading sorta thing) and still no house.

*Sigh* I'm starting to wonder if I'll EVER get into this house.

Watching your posts daily....Plants are all shut down for the holiday vacation time this week...Likely if the home was not delivered to the dealer by Friday...It will not be there before next Tuesday the earliest...Have a good holiday..

That's what we figured.... husband said "Yeah, delivery during a holiday week? Like that's going to happen" LOL I'm just getting antsy because my furniture's starting to arrive and I don't have a house to put it in. At least I don't have to rent storage space though.

Well, the house arrived yesterday, and we went out and checked it out this afternoon.

[cue jaw dropping on floor]

Not only do I have my tan carpet, the moulding is WHITE and the counters are tan---I was stunned. It is ten times more beautiful than any picture I have seen. The only thing I thought was odd is that it has the same white/tan wallpaper throughout, but I'm not upset about that because it will allow me to put up varying wallpaper borders.

The only potential issue I noticed so far is one of the cabinets above the oven fan isn't even with the other, but that's not a big deal. They are moving the house tomorrow or Friday. Lemme tell you, I am one HAPPY camper right now The angst paid off.

My house is now resting comfortably on its concrete footers, and is joined. From what we could tell by peeking in the windows, there's still a lot of interior work to be done. We could have moved the home up about 10-20 feet and still had a decent backyard, but we agreed it looked fine where it was.

I still can't believe I got the white molding. I was fully under the impression I was getting brown trim & green countertops. How suprised I am indeed.

Tracy, was it you that wanted white cabinets? We have them in the laundry room & the bath. They are not painted. They are *******NIIIIIICE******

It just doesn't seem real, and probably wont until I'm handed the keys to the front door to move in at closing.
