Yes - Lynn, the name of it is Sherwood Forest and the developer is Mariah Construction also in Dahlonega (or that may be considered Dawsonville. It's really pretty - the new phase has lots of trees and the two homes I saw that were already set were placed far back from the road which is really desirable to me.
To get to this place, go up GA 400 North to its end at Highway 60. Turn right on 60 going east and go to Old Dahlonega Highway. This is about 4 or 5 miles up Hwy 60 and is sort of hard to find because it intersects 60 at an angle. Turne left onto Old Dahlonega and when you see the road splitting right and left, bear right. This will be Claude Parks Road. Just stay on Claude Parks for several miles (5 or 6?) and you'll see Sherwood Forest on the right. It has a white wooden "horse farm" type of fence around it.
There's another subdivision called Shenandoah which is in the same general area, but I think Fleetwood owns all the remaining lots so you'd have to buy a Fleetwood to live there, but it is also beautiful.
Let me know what you think. I still wish that it could've worked out for me, but it was not only the 50-mile commute that put me off, it was the fact that the last 20-mile leg of the commute (from Cumming down to Roswell) would be bumper to bumper and I just didn't think I could handle that. .
I hope it'll work out for you, though. Good luck!
Whew.... finally moving!
Bad News!
My un organized poor time management of a contractor has screwed me from getting power twice now. the first time he did something wrong with the box so they the power company would only run the wire until the bok was corrected. So the box gets corrected the power company comes out again and attempts the land the lines and set the meter. this time he does everything but set the meter. If any of you have seen a box with it all complete minus the meter you know that to set the meter means to plug it in like a wall socket. its that simple. Why because the ditch covering the power conduit isn't filled in .I can't believe I don't have power because numb nuts didn't back fill the the ditch. Talk about some stupid luck. All my stuff is in everything is ready but the power. now a week later the power company is a little t'ed off from coming out twice and the site isn't ready. anyways moday is the new move in date. If I do this again I will make the dealer put in a timeline and I will put in a fine of $50-100.00 a day if it goes over do to contractor faults. I wouln't penalize them for rain or other natural factors. Have a good weekend everyone.
