Manufactuer Name

Post by Ted » Tue Jun 28, 2011 4:23 pm

I have title docs for an '86 model with the manufacturer's name abbreviated as "Coun". What is the full name of the manufacturer?

I was in the industry in Florida in that year. I can think of only 1 manufacturer who's name could be abbreviated to that designation. Countrywide Homes were built in Douglas, GA and sold over most of the state from I-4 North. You can go to this the following web site for instructions on how to tell for sure;

I am trying to find information regarding "Bendix Manufactured Homes".

I have found one I like, have all the numbers, build date, etc., - but need to locate the following:

* Bendix Manufactered Homes - Plants in or near Oregon?
* I have learned that Bendix went out of the Manuf Home Business in the 1980's - and would like to know just when?
* I would like to acquire a Floor Plan and Specifications regarding Building Standard Features and Optional Items available.

Info at hand:

BENDIX MANUFACTURED HOME
"PACIFICA" Model
MODEL No: P281663F-R
SERIAL No: SE3440A-13
MANUF DATE: 7/1980

I have looked for days on the computer, DMV, local Manuf. Home Dealers, State Building Codes, Tax Offices, Realators, HUD, Building Permit Offices, Manufactured Housing Association of Ore., etc., and still have nothing regarding my above quesstions. The owner of the home in question is for sale - but owner recently passed on and her son has nothing . . . . .

Can you please help in my dilemma????

Thank you for you attention to my requests.

Bendix has been gone long enough now that there is no mandatory records repository on specific models. What specific info are you seeking. Perhaps one or more of the regulars here can help with specific details

Hey thanks guys, but I have just found my own answer.

The "Bendix" Manufactured Home was built by/Through Rex Homes via the Commodore Corporation in McMinnville, Oregon.

Oh, and I had made a couple of errors, ie:

Ser # SE3440A-13 Should be # SE3440A&B
and Add: Mod Design No: # 21110

Thanks again . .....
