$55 is seems like a small tuition for the education offered. We are talking about purchasing a home, the biggest investment that most folks ever make, involving decisions that will dictate ones quality of life for many years.
Most home & lot purchases will exceed well over a hundred thousand dollars, Even a high quality home on a rented lot can exceed that amount in today's market. The cost of the books is excellent insurance, at an extremely a small premium, against the potential personal disasters that an uneducated buying decision can bring.
