I need an appraisal in New York!

We own our mobile home in Staten Island outright. Due to personal reasons, one of us wants to buy out the other and we cannot agree on the value. We know it could be worth less than what we paid 3 years ago, but really want an "official" determination. Real estate appraisers we have called do not want to inspect it and the online services we have found only offer "values" that are not based on actual inspections. Can anyone recommend an actual appraiser in NYC who will render a real appraisal of our home?

Interesting problem..You could well be very wrong about the value having gone down..Resalle value is MUCH related to location...I am assuming this home is in a land lease park...If so the desirability of the location is a MAJOR factor in its value..You might want to ask the park manager for a referral to an appraiser they are familiar with or ask the dealer you bought the home from..

Another good place for a referral would be the state association call or e-mail them with a referral request.:

The management company suggested I call their suggested lender. They only use "internal" appraisers and would not let me hire one to do an independent appraiser outside of one of their loans.

Try datacomp.com. They are a large appraiser of manufactured homes.
