Carpet Cleaning

Post by Pat Carter » Mon Feb 21, 2005 4:49 pm

We're new to living in a mfd. home. Is there a preferred or accepted means to shampoo carpets? We have 3 dogs and usually have it done once a year. What sort of service should we ask for from a carpet cleaning company? Thanks.

What type of subfloor do you have. If it is plywood or osb than any type of cleaning will work fine, if it is particleboard, cresdeck, novadeck I would go with a dry application.

If you have Chem-Dry in your area, they do a nice job.

Yep, we have the dreaded Cresdeck much to my dismay. Thanks for the tip on Chem Dry.

Ah, is that the secret? We bought one of those home carpet steamers a few years ago, and it made a nice bulge in our living room. We haven't attempted to clean the carpets since, yuck! Was afraid to bring anyone in to do it. We're probably going to replace all the carpet anyway before selling.
