Manufactured vs. Modular

We started looking into putting up a modular earlier this year. The very first one that we walked into was a Pine Grove. I still remember walking through that door way. It was the same feeling that I had when I first saw my wedding gown.

Being a practical person, I insisted that we shop around a bit to see what else is out there to make sure that we are getting the best we can for the money that we are going to spend. Let me tell you.... we have seen dozens!! And so far, not one of them compare to the quality of that Pine Grove.

On a recent outing, we were able to see the same modular done by a competitor. It was so nice to be able to finally compare manufacturers on an even playing field. The Pine Grove was definitely superior in quality! And to make our decision even easier, the Pine Grove model that we saw was priced 25% less than its inferior competitor.

You are off here a little. The HUD code does not allow any movement it is set by federal guidelines. The UBC code varies by area. Differences vary slightly but significantly to banks. HUD uses 14 guage wiring, UBC 12 guage. HUD steel floor, UBC wood. There are other minor dofferences. In all reality it is not that big of a deal in difference. To banks however Modular is stick and will appreciate better. Insurance is cheaper too. The price differnce between the two can't be fairly assessed, since the bigger the modular the more hte savings, but I would probably say about 15,000 more for modular, probably with out appliances.
