I know we in Cal live in a wierd housing situation, but is it really this bad???
I have been offered a 1976 MH (don't know the manufacturer) for $84.9K. It is stripped on the inside. Requires kitchen, all walls, flooring, and bath fixtures, shower and tub.
This is in a really nice park called Mtn. Shadows and has a nice view. But the space rent is $700. Does this sound like a California rip off to you. Or am I just the victum of the housing shortage?
Thanks,
Dick Haug
Used MH in So. Cal
Re: Used MH in So. Cal
you couldn't give that MH away here in AZ, and $700 is some people's mortgage payment on a starter home. Not much else to say, except that's bad, I'd move if that was my only option. I feel for you, good luck.
Re: Used MH in So. Cal
I know someone who, in May, bought a 1963 mobile in a park in the Bay area (a little South of San Francisco) and paid $110,000.00. I don't remember what she said the space rent was... It's pathetic, but she considers it a great find. There must be something wrong in California.
Re: Used MH in So. Cal
I believe it is said "Location, Location, Location". If you have to rent your space and can't find any empties to move in a cheaper home that may be your only choice! Yikes. That does seem very high. We just looked at a 2800 sq ft fleetwood in Beaumont, CA (near riverside) for 118,000 New... but then you have to find the lot you like.
Best of luck!
