Use 25% as the average mark up. It will vary by dealer, but this is ball park based on my experience selling wholesale after market products to dealers in NC.

Remember though, the dealer has to pay all expenses, including sales commissions, share of overhead costs, and interest costs out of this 25%.

To get the best deal, keep from adding "options" to your home purchase. i.e. Furniture, appliances, other upgrades. Furnish your own, or buy new, if you can afford to.

Most dealers I know also pay to set the home and provide a/c out of this type of margin...usually after cost margins are less than 13%...from which commissions are paid..

Seldom will a dealer net more than 10% total...that would be considered an excellent dealership..

How much is fair to offer (what percentage). We are looking at a 28x80 Colony that is loaded with options and priced extremely reasonably (the layout and option package is exclusive to the dealer we are purchasing from because of their high sale volume). Is the price really the price that we have to pay? We are trying to back some options off and will be trading in our singlewide, but can we offer them less than the price they quoted us?
