Re: Need Opinions on Dealer Quote
Sounds ok if Champion can meet all these specs....Some sound a little more than most Champions offer...
A couple of comments...This will be a good home if you want to live in it for a long time...Right now you can get a similar home maybe 2 years old for about 1/2 of this amount....This means if you intend to sell in the near future..your resale will be horrible..Single wides are almost gone from the industry and will be so in the near future...
If you proceed...1)..why not a solid back door w/storm...for energy sake since you have so many energy options...2)..you did not mention the SEER rating of the a/c...be sure you do not spend a lot on energy options and get an inferior a/c to eat up the power...get at least a 12 SEER rated a/c...better yet a 14 SEER unit for a home like this...3)..I think this plant is approved for an "ENERGY STAR" rating from the Department of Energy...With the items you already have..the option would be very low and add even more energy efficiency to the home...
Good Luck

Re: Need Opinions on Dealer Quote
Yes, the dealer has called the factory/engineer and confirmed that these options are not a problem. I checked on the AC's SEER rating that they install and it's 12. I wouldn't need a rear door with storm door 'cause I would never use the storm door. The back door leads into the utility room where there is another door leading to the kitchen. I would keep that closed.
I do plan to live in this one a long time
Thank you for "heads up" on the SEER rating
