Fuqua Homes
Fuqua Homes
Hello-
Anyone had any experience with these homes? From the research I've done, they seem like they are nice and come standard with lots of important options. Any opinions?
Thanks,
Scott

Re: Fuqua Homes
I have done lot's of research and decided to go with Fuqua also. They have good building construction, which is standard, unlike some of the others. Are you going to tour the plant in Bend? Who is your dealer?
Re: Fuqua Homes
I too am researching home builders and find Fuqua to be floating to the top of the list. Plan to visit the plant in Bend this summer. What questions would you ask of the mfg? My dealer would most likely be Affordable Homes in Newport OR. Appreciate any assistance I can get evaluating Fuqua's building practices and set-up reputation.
Re: Fuqua Homes
We are going to go to the plant in Bend this weekend, only because they have more models available to view. In Eugene there is a Fuqua only planned community. We drove by last night and the homes do look nice - very houseish, and the foundations look real (no "skirting" - real rock only). The standard build is nice - no need to ask for ridiculous options like moulding. Cabinets, with small upgrade, are good - drawer rollers are solid (might seem unimportant, but after two years of abuse you don't want them even looser!) We were looking at a few thousand in upgrades in order to get a nice house, vs. close to $10,000 in ugrades just to get where Fuqua is at from other dealers in Eugene. It just seems like a much better deal for the price. If I learn more this weekend, good or bad, I'll be sure to post it here.
Re: Fuqua Homes
They were near the top of my list also. That said, I didn't need some of the really fancy stuff (log siding, etc.) and ended up going with Karsten (in Stayton). The price/value equation was very good, quality very good with a couple small exceptions. I found the same basic material in Karsten as well, and the floor plan we wanted.
Re: Fuqua Homes
I am looking into Karsten in Stayton also. It is between them and Homebuilders Northwest in Salem. Any suggestions? and Mac how do you like your Karsten, and was service and set up good??
Thanks
Thanks
Re: Fuqua Homes
Hi everyone,
We just wanted to let anyone interested know that we didnt make it to the Fuqua site in Bend. I (heather) had posted the resale value question earlier, and we have decided to take Macs advice and buy an older site built instead, as we would only be in it for about 5 years. (A seller accepted our offer and we are looking to close in 3 weeks!) Good Luck to all of you!
