Thinking of buying in San Antonio, Texas

Post by Stormy » Fri Feb 21, 2003 8:48 am

I have been researching manufactured homes in and around the San Antonio, Texas Area. I want a good quality, lasting home. We are currently renting, and moved into a brand new Clayton single wide about 3 years ago. The quality is TERRIBLE (it was a hud home, so I am not ssure if that makes a difference in the quality of materials or not). I want to make sure we don't buy and then regret it three years down the road.
Does anyone have any dealer recomendations for this area? Right now, I am leaning towards Palm Harbor or Champion. Also, I am thinking of getting Randy Eaton's book. Do you have it, and was it helpful to you?

Thanks,
Stormy

Sandy

I don't have any recommendations for your area since I live in New York. But I did buy Randy Eaton's books and I find them most helpful. We're thinking about buying a MH up here and and his books were great! I think they're worth the money.

I agree...

I went ahead and bought the books, and am very pleased with them. They gave me a great deal of information, and helped to compare the dealers around here.

Have you purchased a home yet? If so which one and are you pleased with it?
