Anyone have any information on Dealers in Hawaii on Manufactured Housing, and any experience in the additional charges beyond the shell that is involved.

ie: Slab costs, Plumbing, Electrical, Other

I have seen some nice models at HPM for around $38,000 for about 1500 sq ft home, these include slab. Wonder what additional costs could run, just ballpark ideas.

There is a new plant in HI...There was a good article about it in the Journal recently...They are using all metal studs because there is no local lumber and termites are so bad...I will hunt around for the article and/or name and address of the company..

Rick,
There is a new plant in Hawaii that's started by Karsten Homes of Sacramento, Ca. I believe they opened their plant around April 2002. They are building with steel studs because of the termites. I read an article about the plant and I don't really remember which island they are building the homes from.
