Randy,
I purchased your book and it has been very informative and very helpful. I learned so much from that little booklet. Thank you.
But it seem that all your information is geared towards the southwest and western region of the country. I live in the Delaware Valley. I need information for MY region.
Palm Harbor, Solitare and all the other noteable dealers are not available in my area. Please give me some names of some respectable dealers/manufacturers in the Pennsylvania, Delaware, New Jersey area.

I am looking to purchase a 4BR/ 2BA Triple wide this summer. I am now living in a 25yr old double wide that is so dilapidated, my 10 yr old daugther fell through the floor and my electrical system is gonna go any day. I own 3 acres of land.

Please send me any info that I can use to get out of this hell hole. I don't trust Fleetwood or Liberty as of now, unless I hear different from you.

Hello Kandi,

You're in an area of the country where there is not that big of a selection. The companies I would focus on would be: Burlington Homes (Don't know if they deliver to your area but if so a good company) Commodore Homes, Redman Homes and Fairmont Homes. I know Fairmont is in your state and I am including them in my updated comparison guide, which will be out in a couple of months. I give them an excellent rating, a great company with quality service. Let me know which company you decide on!

Look very close at Castle Housing of Knox, PA. I too have a hell hole (Skyline) that I can't get out of quick enough. I have spoken with an inspector who , when asked, did tell me that Castle is a well built home. The guts of the house and the workmanship far exceed what I have seen from any other manufacturer. Let me know what you think. Richard at [email protected]. Good luck.

I have looked at the Castle Homes from Knox Pa. I went to factory and was very pleased. They make a EngryStar home. They also have many extras. I really like the idea of haveing a walk up attic. I'm 6'4" and can stand up in the attic. As things stand now the will be a Castle in my future!

Randy,
Would you please recommend manufacturers that sell in Ohio? I am looking for quality first. Thanks.

A competitor of mine sells castle homes and one of his lead set up guys now works for me. This set-up guy practically cusses castle out everytime their name is mentioned. Take a look or ask about their trusses. He says they are 2x2's (while most others are 2x3's or 2x4's) and, if he has his way he will NEVER set up another castle again. However, the manufacturers that I carry that I feel are dependable are Astro out of Shippenville Pa, Four Seasons out of Indiana and Redman out of Leola Pa. Colony is also a pretty good home. Both Astro and Colony have homes that are "fully loaded" with all you amenities and are still fairly inexpensive. I don't know how many of these are available in Delaware but look into them. Good Luck on your house hunting.

I live in NY and we bought a Colony a year ago and we just love it and we also have a great dealer to work with.
