Clayton vs. Fleetwood

Post by Ray » Mon Dec 16, 2002 12:44 pm

We are replacing our lake place (a sturdy as a rock (true) 1968 Delta, in the next month or so and have our choices down to Clayton or Fleetwood MH. Looking at singlewides in the 60 to 66 x 16 range. Would love a 18 ft wide but we are limited to 66 ft. in length. Here's the problem: We simply cannot make up our minds. Would welcome positive and negative comments/considerations from fellow listers.

Thanks...Ray

P.S. Have ordered Randy's 2 books on Saturday - but have yet to hear back from him.

Ray, I Had the same problem that you did a limited amout of space to put a home. But I called around and found that Clayton will build to suit. Also I have noticed that my clayton house is alot less to heat and cool than my neighbors Fleetwood home. I would consider buying a Clayton. You just cant beat them to me anyway.
Thanks,
Jason

I know just from visiting this website for the past several months that Clayton is a much better built house.

Here on the east coast, Fleetwoods carpentry and workmanship is absolutely
terrible. Go with the other manufacturer.
