His and Hers Master Bathrooms...
His and Hers Master Bathrooms...
We are looking at a Cavco home from the Durango Street location. It has 2 master bathrooms. I thought we had made up or minds already on a Silvercrest but since we've seen this Cavco model we were so impressed with the design. Does anyone know if there are any other models (Hallmark, Silvercrest, etc...) that have the his and hers master bathrooms?
his and hers..
This has become a very popular feature...usually in larger homes..
I am not familier with the manufacutrers you mention...but most factories will offer a few floor plans with this feature..Why not look them up on the net and invest in a phone call to the sales managers of the plants...Some manufacuturers will copy others floorplans even if they do not offer it now...At least your info will be completely up to date..

Re: his and hers..
I've seen a Homes of Merit unit like that. I thought it was pretty neat, but the price was WAY out there. ("on sale" for 73K)
AVOID Cavco!!
I know of one friend that bought a Cavco and has lived to regret it, and I heard from two other families that have had problems.
Look at another brand!!!

Re: AVOID Cavco!!
I heard that too but I also heard that their Durango location was the only one that was an exception to this. We heard the Durango location was excellent. Anyone else know anything about the different location's quality? Thanks
Re: AVOID Cavco!!
My brother has a friend who bought a CAVCO and has lived to regret it. For that reason they didn't make my short list, you guessed it I am well aware of where Durango is. I'll buy my KARSTEN There.
Re: AVOID Cavco!!
i take it your talking about AZ. Durango is the better plant and from what i can see is up to par with the better built homes. i'm seriously considering cavco myself - only litchfield has come out with a newer line to compete with durango that on paper, looks quite good. they've even added some upgrades in flooring materials that only durango used to use. cavco also makes some very low grade economy models (litchfield) and you get what you pay for. most of the durango models start $10k+ higher than litchfield. it really is like dealing with 2 different companies. overall, most of the homes offerred in the az market seem to focus on the lower end.
Re: AVOID Cavco!!
I'd put the upgraded Cavco/Durango that we just purchased against any other
other wheel estate maker out there. They all have faults, Karsten has cheap
floors, Palm Harbor has cheap carpets and pads, the list is endless.
My neighbor who delivered my house, he's been doing it for 30 years says,
Durangos are the best. He's hauled them all.
Palm Harbor, Silvercrest, Karsten, make good homes but they aren't
any better than any other upgraded home.
What makes a great complete home is the service, the problem with
Cavco is the service, it's been slow in our case.
Your mileage may vary.

Re: I agree! Avoid Cavco Homes Durango Division from the owner of one.
Hello,
I purchased a Cavco home thats manufactured from the Durango Division in Phoenix, Az. I was told by a dealer in Flagstaff, Az that it was the best home on the market. I was sold on the home until I started living in it. The very first day I moved into it I discovered the plumbing was missed up. Hot water was coming out of the toilets and outside water facets. I then discovered a moist water spot behind the bookcase in the living room and traced it to the onepiece shower stall in the restroom that was leaking water. I had to break the wall and have it repaired. The home also has a clearestory windows over the roof in the living room and italso sprung a leak along with the skylight in the kitchen. I also was told by the guy who installed the swamp cooler that the home didn't have felt paper under the shingles. It was just stapled over the subroof. The roof is also slowly sagging down in certain areas where you could see where the rafters are. I was also told the home was manufactured for zone 3 and to see the data plate information sheet it was designed for zone 2 with a 20 pds. per. sq. roof load. When the home arrived from the factory it was totally cracked in all areas of the home. I could see that the front half of the home was leaning towards oneway and the other half was strait. Their was a flex in the frame of the home, very cheap frame they use. I WOULD ADVISE ANYBODY TO STAY AWAY FROM CAVCO HOMES DURANGO DIVISION. Very cheap product.
