my roof pitch

Hi I was hopeing maybe you can help me. I bought a modular home and on my papers that are all about the home I do not have the roof pitch on the home. my make of the home is a fairmount/friendship and model is a celebrity and it is a 1997. Do you think you can help answer my question. What is the roof pitch of my home? Thank you for your time Kristal

The pitch of a roof, is measured as a relationship to the width of the roof. A 4/12 pitch means that for each 12" of width, of one half of the home, the roof rises 4". This is something you can measure to verify the pitch. There are also measuring tools for this purpose available at a home center. This then relates to feet in the same manner, 12' of width compared to the height at the king post, if 3', 3/12 etc.

First I do not think you have a modular home. you have a manufactured home. There is a big difference.
Unless your roof was hinged and raised at set up, you probably have a 2 1/2 x 12 roof pitch. That is considered a low sloped roof.

Which is called a "nominal" 3x12 roof...Without a hinge..you can have a true 3x12 and 4x12 roof line...

By the way 50% of all site built homes in the US have 3x12 or less roof pitch..

Not too much built these days uses that less pitch unless its a MH.Even ranch style built in this or the last decade use at least a 5 or 6.
