Cathedral cielings

What strength do cathedral cielings offer (construction wise)? I have been told cathedral cielings are better as far as the overall strength of the home is concerned...I would think they are just more cosmetically appealing.

I think you are right...and some salesperson is streching the truth...

Cathedral cielings are popular because many home have 7 ft. side walls (7 1/2 ft in the better homes) and the cieling would seem too low with flat cielings..
