metal roof and siding

I am looking at several different model homes and have noticed that there is usually a price difference between metal roof and siding versus comp roof and vinyl siding. My question is : is the difference mainly cosmetic or is there major problems waiting for me later if i choose the frugal option and go with the less costly metal roof and siding?

Hello, I would stay away from metal exteriors. They will cause problems. Metal exteriors are prone to leakage. Also, they damage easily and after a short period of time, don't look good. Vinyl/shingle homes will be more energy efficient due to vented roof cavities and wood sheathing, which also helps the structural integrity. Hope I helped you.
