I forgot one question. If we were to design our own MH, are fireplaces only allowed on exterior walls? I'm thinking this is a fire safety code issue that they are only permitted on exteriors, but not sure.

This is not true...the location of the fireplace is not limited..except they are not allowed in bedrooms...

We have a model that has a 2 sided fireplace going through an interior walls...
