Range Hood Falling Out of Ceiling

I have a range hood over my island and it was falling out of the ceiling from where the manufacturer did not put screws in the studs on one side. This range hood is connected to a flimsy wood housing. I don't think the studs are in the right places to repair so what would be your suggestion?

Securing a range hood is a simple task. If the problem is screws that were overlooked and you see where screws were not installed... install them.

If there is a problem with the wood frame that the hood attaches to... take the hood down, replace the damaged or too narrow section of wood and re-install the hood. Take care to turn off the circuit breaker and not over stretch the electric wires that go to the switches for the fan and light.

This is a fairly basic home repair. A few hours and a stick of lumber should do it. If you are not handy find a local handyman. Don't put this off. If the hood falls or gets damaged it could get to be a more time and money consuming job.
