Vintage Mobile Home Insurance

Post by Ginger Gypsy » Fri Jul 24, 2015 12:19 pm

Hi.
I recently purchased a 1957 Monarch mobile home. The dimensions are 8x34.
My intention is to at least gut it and rebuild it as a "tiny house on wheels."
I may end up tearing it down always to the trailer deck and building new structure.
It will be parked in a rented parking lot (not a mobile home park) so I can demo and reconstruct it.
When I called one insurance company they basically require proof that the thing has been rebuilt before I can insure it. :?
How can I insure the structure before it's rebuilt? Any ideas on which companies could/would provide the insurance?
Thanks in advance!

Well, I don't know regarding insurance for structures which are yet to be built for your mobile home. But I certainly know about RV shipping firms, which you can see here, that are involved in insuring the motor home while they transport it from one place to another. Hope it would help you.
