How TO TITLE your MLS listing

Post by David Oxhandler » Sun Feb 01, 2004 11:23 am

The first field you will find on the submit listing form is the title field. This is the short description of your home for sale that will appear in the listings. Like a picture A good title will wet the appetite of the reader to click on it and view the entire listing. A good title might be "GRETA STARTER HOME" or "INVENTORY REDUCTION" or "FOUR BIG BED ROOMS" or "BEAUTIFUL LAKE VIEW" A poor title choice is "MANUFACTURED HOME" or "DOUBLEWIDE" or "MOBILE HOME FOR SALE". All the homes in our MLS are MANUFACTURED HOMES. The title should be a phrase that tells potential buyers why they should look at your listing among the hundreds available to browse. Please Be sure that you:
DO NOT title you listing to gain a top position in the alphanumeric BROWSE view of the listings.
DO NOT title all your listings the same. Several listings in a row all with the same title are not just boring but confusing... which is which?
DO NOT use characters like quotation marks or (* ! # % ^) in the title. While you may know what yours trying to say. In a short description They make it difficult for many people to understand the message. The MLS is moderated. Your listings will not be viewable immediately when submitted. Your listing will appear on line in 24 to 48 hours. after review and acceptance by the Listings Editor. Listing titles that don't meet the standards enforced by the listings manager will simply be changed prior to acceptance for public viewing. For Additional Assistance After reading the notes above. If you notice that the title to your listing has been changed and don't understand why, or if you would like help with your title post a question in the open form below. We will try to answer any questions you may have about selling manufactured homes through the MLS.
