Hello group,
I am new to this forum and new to the m/h living.

My wife and I bought a 2000 fleetwood double wide and the first thing I did was tear out all of the flooring we have decided on bamboo flooring for most of the house.
My question is about the sub-floor novadeck is installed on our home can I nail the new flooring directly to this or should I install plywood over it first?

Bamboo flooring has several advantages and disadvantages. For homeowners, the primary motivation for doing bamboo wood floor installation is to save money.

Bamboo flooring is an earth-friendly choice. Bamboo comes from managed forests It’s fast-growing and continues to grow without the need to be replanted after its cut, making it eco-friendly.

Bamboo floor planks are manufactured by slicing or shredding the stalk of the bamboo grass plant, and then adhering the pieces back together using heat, pressure, and a resin based adhesive. This adhesive can release volatile organic chemicals into the air of an interior space over time.

On the other hand....Bamboo flooring products contain adhesives with lower levels of formaldehyde then most floor coverings.

Bamboo is NOT a hardwood and may be more susceptible to dents. Avoid high-heeled shoes and rubber backed rugs on bamboo floors. Yo will need to keep your pet’s nails and claws trimmed to avoid scratches. Direct sunlight can cause the bamboo to discolor.

Check the suppliers installation directions. If not clear contact the suppler about the requirements of the base under their product. Pay particular attention to installation requirements around heat/air ducts in the floor. Bamboo needs to "breath", and may absorb moisture. If not installed correctly, condensation around floor vents could cause the NovaDeck to decompose and/or the bamboo floor planks to plump.

Hii Mack, david is right 2 years back i am also confused that which flooring is best for my home to make it classy then my nephew advise me to go with bamboo floors and he suggest me the name of a company that is www.bamboofloorsgoldcoast.com then i call there and within few days i become surprised to see my new home with an eye-catching and exclusive look. So, i suggest everybody to go with bamboo floors only it's really an economical as well as inexpensive product.

Certainly true bamboo flooring is not much expensive and is very eco friendly. Its easy to clean and maintain it and also it gives a new and attractive look to your house.
