roll out windows

Post by sandyrisner » Mon Mar 26, 2012 2:10 pm

I live in a very old 1961 but I have kept it up and it looks like a new one. I am in need of a old 21.5 x 40 inch roll out window for my kitchen. Do you have any idea where one can be found.

Thank you so very much

Roll out or awning windows are difficult to find because no one is making them anymore. Awning Windows have many good features. The fact that they have pointed corners that stick out beyond the normal foot print of a home, caused injury when many people to walk into them. Local laws and common sense killed production.

Old awning windows can be repaired. Glass can be replace by local glass shops and there are replacement parts available for cranks. Most of the old windows reach a point where repairs become uneconomic. You will find that the heat/cool efficiency of your home will get a boost by replacement with single hung windows.
