I just bought a double wide and found that the roof is leaking from the ridge cap and the water is dripping from the cracks of bath room door frame. I got a friend of mine to go up the roof and try fixing it by sealant.He reglued all the shingles along the ridge cap.I thought the problem was fixed. It rained this morning and the water is still dripping from the door frame.

How can I fix this problem.

It is difficult to tell with out actually inspecting the roof where the leak is coming from. Leaks can occur anywhere but usually start at the marriage line or around plumbing vents, furnace stacks or other components that might protrude through the roof. Shingles are generally nailed, not glued. For minor leaks often a sealant will effectively stop the problem. Some leaks require that shingles be re-nailed or replaced

Even if the shingles have not reached replacment age but have been subjected to extreme cold winters, long time snow loads, and/or hot summers they may have become brittle, dried out or cracked and ineffective and need to be replaced.

It might not be a bad idea to call several roofers. Most will make an inspection and repair estimate at no cost to you. If a few of them agree on what the problem is you should probably respect their diagnosis.
