Replacing connections on water heater

The cold water inlet for my water heater is leaking at the connection to the pvc tubing. We have removed the old coupling and have replaced it with a new one, wrapped the threads with plumber's tape but can not maintain a tight seal.

Suggestions?

The threads may be striped... try several layers of plumbers tape

We have no hot water, thermostat is burned out, small leak. Should we repair or replace. If we replace, where can we get the water heater at a discounted price? Thanks, Zee

Seems more likely that the element is burned out...I have no idea where you can get a cheap one beside the big box home repair stores..All sorts of parts can be had here..

www.mobilehomepartsstore.com
Search for water heater or call the toll free phone for advice....
