Are there any man'f. home, direct vent, nat gas, water heaters made with electronic ignition. I currently have a Rheem and am so tired of relightong the pilot every time the wind blows.
Also is it more likely that the pilot gets blown out from the air intake at the bottom or air entering through the exhaust flue at the top?
water heaters
Re: water heaters
Our water heater also blows out. I contacted our manufacturer and they said to try closing the skirting vents closest to the water heater. Next try closing down the intake under the house. They also sent a new vent cap but we haven't put it on yet and haven't adjusted the intake under the house. Because guess who will get to climb up on the roof or under the house? It did seem to help some just closing the vents in the skirting. There have been other posts here that solved the problem by putting a shield on the vent cap to block the prevailing wind.
