central air

i have a 1999 fairmont single wide with a colman evcon central a/c unit .when i turn on my a/c the home gets cold all ecept for my bed room i checked the vent they all are blowing cold air .i was told by an a/c tec that it is because it is the farthest room from the furnace is why. is that true and is there anything i can do to make room colder?

I had the same problem in a 1995 Homes of Legend 16x80. My solution? Spend $100 at Wal-Mart and buy a 5000 BTU 110 volt window unit. It cooled a 15x15 foot bedroom with no problems. Saves money too because you don't have to run your central unit as much.

Have you had the freon levels checked? It may just need a little boost.

I find that closing some of the vents closest to the a/c tends to draw the cooler air down into the farther vents.
Also, ceiling and portable fans seem to help move the cooler air around.
