I would like to know where I can find FHA guidelines for building a wooden deck n to a modular home. I don't want to have it redone to FHA standards if I decide to sell. I want to do it right the first time.

thank you, doreen

Call local dealers in your area..Tell them your plans and ask for a referral to a good deck builder....

generally if you build the deck free standing(NOT attatched to the home or the ground) it is considered to be a temperary structure and NO permits are required and your taxes should not go up due to the project. It is pretty simple to do and it can be done so that it is very sturdy and appears to be permennant. call a GOOD CARPENTER and talk to him and have him take you to past job sites that he has worked on (most home owners don't mind) and have him show you how this is done and he will be able to help you desighn a wonderful deck!!
