FROZEN PIPES

HOW LONG DO I LET LIGHT STAY IN ORDER TO UNTHAW PIPES AND WHERE IS THE BEST PLACE TO PLACE THE LIGHT.

You're using a light bulb for heat to thaw a frozen pipe without bursting it, I assume. I would put it toward the outside of the house - as close to the inlet as possible. You can use a blow dryer too, gently - just don't use a propane torch. And - if freezing is a problem where you live- buy and install heat tape. There will be a place under your house to plug it in.
