Earlier I posted about a tear in the vinyl floor in the bathroom. Took all the advice given and here is where I am now:

OK, so the manufacturer refused to repair but the retailer has agreed to and is sending his team out on Tuesday with the vinyl.

My questions:
1. The vinyl flooring was obviously laid before the spa tub, toilet and shower were put in. Should all of these be removed to lay the floor? Or is it oK for them to just replace the part you can see and seal it down?

2. What should I be looking for as they repair this? Any hints as to what is a good job vs bad job?

3. Finally, and thank you for any help, should I just take the roll of flooring and get my own contractor in?

No reason to remove the tub or shower...most likely they will lay up to the fixture and finish with a small /////quarter round molding...They will probably remove the toilette because there is no way to put molding around the bottom.....If you have Cresdeck or Novadeck floors they should be sure all is sealed well.....Some would just fix the cut area by cutting out a piece at a natural place in the pattern and "weld" in a new piece with a product called vinyl weld....done carefully this spot repair can work fine...

Why did the factory not do this work???....You are lucky to have a dealer who wants you happy...Good Luck...Do not stress out too much...Maybe one of the repair folks will chime in with more advice...

just a little info.... when the home is built in the factory there are no walls after the frame with the floor is turned back over from installing bottom board manufactures install large areas of vinyl before the anything else saves time. Even in the old days they use to install it from front to rear. So yes Murry is right fix what can be seen and yes good dealers are few and far between tell a freind
