wet carpet, buckling kitchen floor, help.....

Post by Mary » Thu Oct 06, 2005 11:03 pm

We returned home tonight to a wet section of the carpet. with the adjacent nearby linoleum on the kitchen floor sort of buckled and rounded like a small hill.
We have reported this to our home warranty people and they are having a plumber call first thing in the morning. We have also turned off the water, per instructions from the warranty people.
It's a 1974 home, so I suppose the pipes are aging and starting to leak?
I guess our homeowner's insurance will cover the flooring damage?
Does anyone have any advice before the plumbers begin, like maybe we should look to paying to have all pipes re-done so this doesn't happen some more?
I don't know where we'd get the money, but.... we are so new to this. The first mobile home for both of us. We are sisters, and learning more about homes every day.

Thanks for replying.
