extended warranty on roof

how do I start the ball rolling on my roof leak. We have an extended warranty. We've had our 1999 home since Oct. 2000.

Our first leak was last year. Rain leaked thru the bathroom vent. Claims person suggested we caulk with roofing sealer around the vent on the roof and any other vents and the skylight on a yearly basis. That has worked so far.

Now the leak is where the main roof attaches to the elevated sunroom roof. Leak is at the right angle where the sunroof outside wall mets the roof for the remainder of the house. The sunroom roof is higher that main roof. Sorry, I'm trying to give a verbal picture of the position of the leak, hope it's not confusing.

I don't want a temporary quick fix.

I'm so glad I finally found this site. I have looked for MH information and support-type group for those of us who are still at a loss as to our rights and the do's and don'ts of trying to make our purchase a success. We need all the help we can get.

Who issued the extended warranty ? Look at your papaer work. There are a number of companies that issue extended warranty contracts

David asked the important question, but I will guess you are out of luck.
Most warranties require you seal all roof penitrations every year and they will deny your claim by saying you failed to do that.
As far as the sun room goes, I would be shocked if the warranty extends to the sun room and the connection to the home seems pretty funky.
Good luck and let us know how you make out.
