mold,condensation,setup

You name it, we have it. Bowed walls, interior & exterior. 1/2 inch gap down complete marriage line, seal in bottom board in gap not correct, blocks falling out under the home. Bathroom floor buckled, when checked they said it was due to condensation from the ground that was entering the hole in the belly of the home that was put there when the home was being delivered and the tire blew and tore it and of course they failed to repair it. Moisture entered the hole causing condensation on the metal duct and soaked everything. The whole underside of the belly of this double wide is soaked,,,,,excessive moisture just hangs. All beams have significant amounts of rust. No vapor barrior. Big black duct under home is half on the ground and not connected to the home correctly. I have had 3 to 4 guys from the manufacture in my home for four weeks now repairing problems. Thank goodness while they have been here is when the floor decided to buckle. When they removed the linoleum to this floor two weeks ago it had noticable green mold spots on top of the floor. Two weeks later when they removed part of the actual floor it was covered with green and black looking mold. Well they washed it down with bleach and replaced the floor. (only about a four foot section) This is a brand new home that we have only lived in for 7 months. The home was delivered in Sept 2004 but thanks to busted walls amongst other things during delivery and very poor support from the dealership we finally were able to move in in January 05. We have sent in several request for problems to be fixed. Our last request was in May 2005 that included a 16 page problem list that including an immediate request to check out an electrical problem due to lights flickering, dimming, breakers tripping and the outlets always having to be reset and after replacing between 10 to 15 light bulbs since we moved in. Our immediate request in May 05 came in July 05.
AT OUR WITS END!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It sounds like a real mess. If you have any complaints about the your new manufactured home that have not been resolved by the retailer where you purchased the home you should contact the manufacturer that produced the home. If the problems are left unresolved by the factory then you need to contact the state agency where you live that administers the federal code regulating manufactured housing. You can find the contact information for that agency on our site at www.mfdhousing.com/saa It is important to provide the following information with your complaint: First write a numbered list of all the problems. After you have listed each problem then list the dates and names of the people at the dealership and the manufacturer that you spoke to about the problems. Then list the dates that service men came to your home and what they did during that visit. Also be sure to include: Your name, address and a telephone number where you can be reached during the day The name of the manufacturer The serial number and model number of your home The HUD label number (the red tag on the back of the home) The date purchased The name of the retail business who sold you the home. Copies of any correspondence or contacts with the retailer and the manufacturer to resolve the problem. Make copies of this letter. Keep one and send a copy by Certified Mail Return Receipt to: -1- The Dealership where you purchased the home -2- The Manufacturer of the home -3- The Agency that regulates manufactured housing in your state. You can find the contact information for that agency on our site at www.mfdhousing.com/saa Please let us know how you make out. Good Luck.

Please see an attorney immediately. This is bad. You can not remove material from the house in the condition that you have described, clean it and reinstall it. Mold is a bad mojo. It grows and spreads. It doesnt go away. If you remain in the house you and your family may become ill. And worse. A mobile home owners bill of rights passed through the senate back in 1990. It lists 10 points and the first two deal specifically with your problems. You can find it on the internet by typing in "mobile home owners bill of rights" on google. The dealer may very well fix everything else and maybe he wont. This is a bad situation and I hope you heed my advise for your sake. As David Oxhandler will tell you "BUYER BEWARE". I wish luck.
