I wrote a few days ago that our living room floor is creaking when it's walked on. Lewis answered that he thought the lag bolts need to be tightened.
I told our handyman (who will be here in a couple of days to do some stuff) and he thought those might be under the belly cover, insulation, etc. and a major job to find.....
Can anyone tell me what sort of job it is to tighten the lag bolts and where they are located?
Thank you.

Your LAG BOLTS are no problem to find at all. They are on the outside of everything. They help hold the floor joist to the metal frame. They should be 9/16" or 5/8" head size and have square washer of a thing uder them. To be honest with you Mary if your handyman doesnt know what they are I wouldnt let him/her work on my house. Hope this helps ya!

Sometimes when you tighten the lag bolts on the frame they have a tendency to come loose again try pulling it out completly and replacing it on the otherside of the frame
