Want to extend/ on land lease

Hello! I am in a beautiful singlewide 2000 Commodore, but do not have enough room. My husband and I have talked about possibly putting on an extension, instead of moving (we think we are upside down on our loan for the home), and we have no idea how to even begin looking at options, pricings, or where to find someone that can do it. We also are on a land lease in a manufactured home community - where we have noticed several older singles with extensions. Because we do not own the land, we do not have "permanent foundation" (we need a staircase to enter), but the house is secured with rods and cement slabs. Will the addition need to have an actual foundation, or not? Any information that you can give us on the procedure and / or pricing of an addition would be welcome! Thank you!

Check out this book on building an addition onto a mobile home. It's brand new on the market and may be just what your looking for.

You gotta see my repair manual!

My link to the book on building an addition didn't show up in the last post. Let's try that again.

Thank you! I'm actually going to grab both books! Hopefully, we will come up with a solution.

> we have no idea how to even begin looking at options, pricings, or where to find
You'd need to contact your leaseholder first and find out what their requirement and restrictions are.
> we do not have "permanent foundation" (we need a staircase to enter)
Stairs aren't a precursor to a permanent foundation, in fact, stairs have nothing to do with it.
> Will the addition need to have an actual foundation, or not?
Yes, and built to local codes.

I was just emphasizing that the house was on skirting by mentioning the stairs.

) Thank you for your help!
