Did you get any estimates from contractors, or just what the insurance company told you the repairs would cost? 8 out of 10 times the insurance company will be low on the estimates. And if you agreed to the settlement, you could have to fork from your own pocket the difference between what the insurance company 'thinks' it can be fixed for and what it actually costs. Hopefully your insurance policy lets you ammend the amounts.

Never settle with an estimate given by an insurance company without first getting a couple written estimates from contractors. Of course your having trouble locating contractors isn't helping the situation. Drive into some mobile home parks and start asking for names from some managers. Many of the good contractors are busy and don't bother doing much advertising.
