Well I recently followed advice from my local lowes store and primed my walls in my modular home. Then I painted them and they turned out OK. The only thing I have a question about is that the paint when bumped will come off the wall. Just a slight bump by a toy will leave the paint stripped from the wall. Anybody have any comments/suggestions as to what went wrong? Paint I know should be tougher than that.

Did you wash the walls first? Even washing with soap or detergent can leave behind a film. Some suggest using vinegar or ammonia to wash first before primer.

Cleaning before priming is essential. After some time, airborne grease and smoke particles attach to the walls and there is no paint that holds well to any kind of oil/grease. Try a no-rinse wall cleaner from your hardware store or paint store. Lowes should also have it.
Oh yeah, fingerprints are oily!

Before painting your walls, you MUST wash your walls with TSP (trisodium phosphate) You can get it at LOWE'S, WalMart, etc. This takes all oil, etc. off of your walls so they will hold the paint.

Lowe's paint isn't very good, try something better.
