I have a 1998 Champion Titan.I have textured popcorn ceilings and would like to paint them.They are not sheetrock.I beleive they are a wallboard like the rest of the Mobile Home.I wondered if anyone else has painted theirs and how it worked out?Thanks,Sandi

Use a roller and roll carefully. It'll probably take a lot of paint, but if you get the texture to wet it will come off (some will come off anyway).

If you have access to a sprayer (and plastic for masking off!), it works WAY better than a roller and will be done quicker, with less paint. If you DO roll it, make sure to use a roller with a thicker nap. They make a special roller for these "popcorn" ceilings that is less hard on them. You will loose some of the texture no matter what.

I recently painted my bathroom ceiling and it is popcorn. I painted with aroller made to paint popcorn and it done a fairly good job just be sure to buy plenty of paint. Those ceilings are thirsty!

I used to be a painter many years ago. Spraying is best if you have access to the equipment. For rolling, we used a thick foam roller (usually blue in color) that was cut into about 1/2 inch squares. As others have said, the ceiling will drink a lot of paint and some of the pop corn will come off. Use a five gallon bucket with a roller screen instead of a roller pan. The pop corn that comes off will be deposited in the bucket but will also be picked up as you dip the roller in and redeposited on the ceiling. You won't have to constantly refill it like a pan. You'll need to mask around the walls so you can roll right up to the edge. Put some pressure on the roller so it gets into all the depressions.

Talk to a sales person at a hardware or prefferably a good paint store. They will no doubt have some experience with this and recommendations. There also may be a better roller than what I used years ago.

i have popcorn ceilings in my bathroom and i had water damage. i have fixed that problem. now it has left a crack or the panel has split. i want to repair the problem but i can not find the right panel to match the ceiling. i have a chandeuleur home that i bought in 2002. what do i do?
