We are in the process of changing the bath tub into a shower. I have found a shower pan and surround. The original surround has been removed. My question is concerning the faucet. (the mobile is a 1971 single wide) Can I go to a home improvement store or do I have to purchase a faucet set specificaly made for a mobile home?

No, you can use any that will fit the new surround. Tom

Thanks Tom.
That's a relief the sets specified for mobile homes did not appeal to me at all and although I am just looking on the net don't appear to be of the best quality.

I am sure I will be happier with something made for any home.

As long as you haven't made any holes in the shower surround, your free to use any faucet. The single-handle faucet with the temperature control would be the recommended faucet to use (and code in most places if you were upgrading in a stick-built home).

Need to know if it is possible to replace shower faucet in sheetrock, even though the holes are a little worse for wear, without going through the adjacent wall to resturdy the faucet in there? I'm new at this and while I am doing it I want to do it right!

My bathtub does not currently have a shower in it. Where can I find instructions on how to install the type of shower that runs up the wall (looks like a metal tube)?

If your tub spout is separate from the faucets, you may be able to remove the tub spout by twisting it off and replace it with one that has a connection to screw on a hand-held shower. I say 'may be able to remove' because if your faucet is old, it may be rusted on but good.

You gotta see my repair manual!

The cold water faucet in the shower will hardly turn anymore which means really hot showers. Do I replace everything, or just the faucet? Is it a simple job? Can the faucet be fixed?
